FIELD ENGINEER
Superintendent / Subcontractor

Significantly improved collaboration, reducing risks, increasing efficiency, and enhancing project delivery through OpenBIM, making it more flexible and scalable for construction workflows. Better communication and transparency, construction sequencing, 4D/5D simulations and data consistency help reduce human error.

PROJECT DASHBOARDS

Project dashboards such as BEXEL BI Analytics and Power BI Dashboards, provide Field Engineers with detailed real-time insights into quantities, tendering, potential collisions, performance goals, construction progress, daily/weekly/monthly look-ahead plans, etc.. They enable data-driven decision-making by consolidating key project and performance metrics into clear, interactive visual reports. Various interactive dashboards are used to perform advanced analyses and connect all important planning decisions for furter work execution.

OPERATIONAL TAKT PLANNING

Takt Planner panel in BEXEL CDE allows the lean process of takt planning to be fully customized by Field Engineers as a part of finetuning of detailed construction schedule for the purpose of more detailed work organization and control, while directly linked to the BIM model elements. This allow them to define an optimized and consistent production rhythm by dividing the project into equal time intervals (takt times) and work zones. This way Field Engineers are able to early identify and avoid construction delays by using zone/sub-zone/phase-based flow for defined progress interval (weekly, daily, bi-weekly etc.).

ENTER CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS PER TAKT OR PER ELEMENTS

Progress tracking through BEXEL BCF.Server enables customized collaboration between all project participants by simple data entry and data/documentation exchange in real-time. Field Engineers easily select BIM model elements that are executed on-site, submit request for approval to Supervisor, get it approved and then enter progress to update actual schedule, all through one integrated BIM solution. Elements can be selected one by one, by takt, zone, work group, etc. thereby increasing control of submitted works and reducing the possibility of error.

RFIs COMMUNICATION

BEXEL BCF.Server and BEXEL Docs modules within BEXEL CDE ecosystem enhance communication between Superintendent and Subcontractor team members by enabling clarity in information sharing, documentation exchange and access rights on a project through all of its versions.

QUALITY ISSUES COMMUNICATION

BEXEL BCF.Server and BEXEL Docs modules within BEXEL CDE ecosystem allow for seamles real-time communication, collaboration and coordination on various issues. Quality issues are easily adressed and communicated through on-site data exchange in form of photography or drone footage, sharing data with all stakeholders and real-time discussion in comments section, until issue is being resolved by responsible parties. This way, quality control and the quality of executed work have been significantly improved, which affects time and money savings.

COMMUNICATION AND APPROVAL OF NECESSARY ON-SITE CHANGES

Through BEXEL BCF.Server and BEXEL Docs module, all activity on on-site changes is timely managed and communicated. The process is simplified and made transparent by simply sending request for approval, with appropriate documentation attached to it, to Design Manager or Supervisor, and request being checked, communicated and finally approved by them, all in the same centralized system which is already linked to all project documentation and BIM model for efficient checkout. This allows for a timely reaction, fast problem resolving and prevention of further errors on-site.

FIELD SUPERVISION REQUEST FOR APPROVAL

Through BCF.Server, the document approval process is significantly simplified and accelerated because all the processes of request/documentation exchange, communication between participants, reporting additional problems, as well as the approval itself, are carried out through one central system. The Field Engineer is in direct communication with the Supervisor in real time, which increases the collaboration efficiency, reduces the possibility of misunderstandings and errors, and enables timely completion of work for all participants.

FLOOR PLANS REVIEW

Easy review of the entire project, as well as focusing on specific units, zones, floors, rooms and isolating individual segments of the project, and the data that the elements contain, is enabled through simple 3D navigation in BEXEL Manager and BEXEL CDE. In addition, through BEXEL Docs module, the cloud‑based document management system, within the BEXEL CDE ecosystem, all project documentation is stored, managed and easily accessed while also being linked to appropriate model elements. It helps work organization and on-site navigation, as well as work execution monitoring.

PER SUBCONTRACTOR ANALYTICS

A centralized data set and the ability of analytics based on various criteria in BEXEL Manager and BEXEL CDE, enriched with comprehensive Power BI Dashboards, enables a detailed analysis of the subcontractor's schedule and efficiency, including quantities, cost, group of works, liability, reporting, payment, safety incidents and timely prediction of progress and costs for the next period.

4D+5D CONSTRUCTION SIMULATIONS

4D and 5D construction simulations integrate time and cost data with the 3D model to deliver a comprehensive project overview. These simulations allow Field Engineers to visualize the construction sequence over time and plan/optimize/monitor execution and budget impacts in real time. This enables more accurate planning, early detection of delays or cost overruns, and improved coordination across teams.

PARTICIPATE IN PROJECT MEETINGS - DETAILED WEEKLY PLAN ANALYTICS

Continuous access and collection of project-related information, documentation and data within a fully centralized system allows the Field Engineer to be fully up to date with the project and on-site work progress at all times and thus be prepared for meetings with any of the participants at all times. The engineer can at any time present and justify a detailed execution plan for the upcoming period (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and adapt to potential required changes in the project, schedule, etc. In this way, the contractor saves his time and resources while at the same time adapting to potential changes during the work execution period.

AS-BUILT DOCUMENTATION COLLECTION

With BEXEL Docs. Field Engineers no longer have to collect as-built documentation only after the completion of the on-site project execution. Within the BEXEL Docs. module, every change in the project design and the on-site execution of the works is recorded by linking the appropriate project documentation to the model elements themselves, and in this way, Field Engineers have access to the as-built documentation at any time even during the construction period. Completness of as-built documentation can be checked and reviewed through BEXEL BI Analytics and Power BI Dashboards which can be shared with other appropriate collaborators.

CLEAR DAILY AND WEEKLY OPERATIONAL PLANS WITH TAKT PLANNING

Takt Planner panel enables very detailed planning of the work execution on a daily or weekly basis by focusing on optimization of groups of works planned in relation to the location (apartments, floors, zones, etc.). The time and duration of the activites can be additionaly customized at coordination meetings, after which every stakeholder confirms the TaktPlan. Additionally, the actual Point Cloud can be overlapped with the BIM model, to have the workers fully aware of the situation on site.

SIMPLIFIED REPORTING OF CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS PER TAKT OR PER ELEMENTS

In addition to focused finetuning of original schedule, Takt Planner panel also enables simplified progress reporting where each Subcontractor reports the progress using Online Application for PC, Tablet, or Mobile and adjusts actual durations.

SIMPLIFIED HANDOVER

BEXEL Manager, as comprehensive BIM software solution, plays a crucial role in project handover to the Client by streamlining the transfer of complete, accurate, and structured project data. In centralized data environment it is ensured that the latest and approved versions of the models and documentation are available for handover. All operational data is linked to model elements and all documentation is easily exported to common file formats. Open BIM supports standards like COBie, making it easier to deliver structured asset and O&M data at handover.
